Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) -- in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has offered 7,890 job opportunities to poor people in Nayong county since the start of the year.
In order to help Nanyong county fight its poverty through employment, the zone has been researching and identifying the employment needs of its resident enterprises every month and sent details to poverty-stricken Nayong job seekers.
In addition, since January the zone has organized a series of job fairs in Nayong, providing over 7,000 job positions.
In order to encourage resident enterprises to employ Nayong migrant workers, the zone has drawn up policies and measures. Companies recruiting rural labor from Nanyong will be handed a one-time payment of 1,500 yuan ($229.20) per person.
In addition, a one-off individual payment of 500 yuan will be given to those from the Nanyong county who are hired. And these workers' rents for public housing will be reduced or remitted for one year.
Since the beginning of 2020, the number of Nayong's people who are working in the zone have reached 208.
Moving forwards, the zone will continue to pay attention to these employees, help solve their problems in life and work and ensure that they continue to emerge from penury and not return to poverty.
