Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is continuing to display its commercial savvy and strength, with its GDP in 2020 topping 400 billion yuan ($61.59 billion), making the city both a provincial capital and an economic powerhouse in the country.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Guiyang has plans to bring in and cultivate more innovative people through support policies. To do so, Guiyang and Guian New Area have released various measures to attract talent more actively and efficiently.

Guiyang reportedly next plans to compile a catalog, to classify different types of top professionals and provide corresponding services for them.

The city will move to support the development of major industries and help enterprises to attract personnel who are in short supply. Based on the recruitment results, Guiyang will provide financial support.

Certified high-level talent and their family members can reportedly enjoy convenient medical treatment, health management and health consultation services, as well as discounts from signed service providers related to culture, entertainment, fitness, housekeeping and parking.

Guiyang and Guian will also launch a plan to support key talent, teams, projects and the application of scientific and technological achievements in production with a financial subsidy worth up to 3 billion yuan, as well as create a talent development fund every year backed by 100 million yuan.

Moving forwards, Guiyang will provide more funds and policies to attract and serve top people, simplify talent-related service procedures, as well as provide a better living environment for them.
