The competition was reportedly not only a test of the achievements of veterans' skills and training, but also an active encouragement for veterans to obtain employment, become more accomplished and to serve their country.
Since the establishment of the veteran affairs department, Guiyang has established the veteran vocational education base and the veteran employment, entrepreneurship, industry and education integration alliance.
An education and training system that combines adaptive training, vocational skills training and academic education has been gradually established and improved.
More than 1,500 veterans have participated in the short-term vocational skills training and more than 2,600 self-employed retired soldiers are participating in academic education at higher vocational colleges.
