A vocational skills competition will be held in October in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – the first time such an event has been held in the province.
One of the qualifying rounds was held on July 6 at the Guiyang Vocational and Technical College.
The contestants were involved in the fields of network security, network system management, information network cabling, website design and development, as well as mobile application technology.

After a full day competing, each participating project selected two contestants to represent Guiyang at the provincial finals.
The holding of the qualifier reportedly helped create an environment that advocates skills and respects talent. The long-term goal of the competition is to continuously improve the quality of workers in the region and promote the training of highly skilled talent.
