This year, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has posted a record in the employment rate of university graduates, college graduates and graduates from technical secondary schools and vocational schools, according to a recent conference held in the city.
As of July 23, there were 13,757 college and university graduates in the city and 11,497 of them got jobs, scoring an employment rate of 84 percent, 4 percentage points above the target.
In addition, some 11,354 of 12,477 graduates from technical secondary schools and vocational schools were employed. The initial employment rate was 91 percent, which exceeded the target by 1 percentage point.
The number of college students and graduates enrolled in the military conscription plan was 43 and 179 were actually enrolled.
Moving forwards, plans are for colleges and universities in the city to continue to organize various career planning competitions and skills competitions, to improve career prospects and develop a comprehensive employment and career guidance system.
Meanwhile, technical secondary schools and vocational schools plan to adapt to the diverse needs of students of the new situation, and adjust the direction of vocational training in a flexible and timely manner.
