Guanshanhu district of Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – had already gotten results from an initiative undertaken last year by its human resources and social security bureau to ensure more employment and entrepreneurship in 2021.

Throughout the year, the district arranged for 453 people with employment difficulties to get public welfare posts, officially recognized 13 job apprenticeship units, and established five job apprenticeship bases.

The district promoted the construction of entrepreneurial incubation bases and guided more experts and financial resources to help resident businesses grow and provide more jobs.

In 2021, Guanshanhu supported 87 college and university graduates to start up their own businesses, built four entrepreneurial incubation bases which employed more than 3,000 people and held six entrepreneurial activities.

A total of 33 on-site and online jobs fairs were organized by the district during the year, providing more than 36,000 jobs – leading to more than 3,800 preliminary employment agreements being reached.

The district also created a good momentum for extending the benefits of social security. Last year, 208,775 people in the district participated in urban employee endowment insurance. Some 104,800 people participated in work-related injury insurance, 102,363 people in unemployment insurance and 42,359 people participated in old-age insurance for urban and rural residents.
