In 2022, Guiyang municipal civil affairs bureau will boost the construction of 15-minute community living circles that allow residents to obtain basic necessities and services within a 15-minute walk.
It is planned to add 22 sub-district eldercare service centers and 160 community eldercare service stations in all districts, county-level cities, and the counties of Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
This is to meet the multi-level and diverse needs of elders for eldercare services and improve their sense of gain, happiness, and security.
According to the seventh National Census in 2020, the number of elderly people over the age of 60 in Guiyang reached 796,200 accounting for 13.3 percent of the city's resident population. Guiyang is gradually entering a deeply aging society.
Guiyang and Guian will further improve the construction of elderly service facilities to provide convenient, caring, and professional elderly care services.
In order to increase policy support for elderly care services, Guiyang has issued relevant plans and supporting documents. The city will learn from the experience of other provinces and further improve the construction and operation subsidy standards of elderly care institutions.
