Guizhou to help veterans with employment, entrepreneurship

In order to help veterans find jobs and start businesses, Southwest China's Guizhou province has been working to improve their education level and expand their employment channels by enacting a number of policies and measures.

Since 2018, a total of 20,503 veterans in the province have enrolled in higher vocational colleges, 18,231 have participated in adaptive training, and 16,772 have participated in vocational training.

To expand employment channels, the province has established employment and entrepreneurship incubation bases, and education and training bases for veterans.

On Match 17-18 this year, a special job fair was held for veterans to provide employment services for those who are willing to work, family members of active military personnel and family members of veterans who are willing to work in the province.

The job fair saw 11 companies participate in a livestream room to promote jobs, including the Guizhou Province Veterans Employment and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base and Guizhou Junmeng Education Consulting Co. A total of 523 job vacancies were on offer.

The province has also cooperated with financial institutions to launch various financial services.

In addition, through cooperation with the Guizhou Provincial Finance Bureau and the Guizhou Provincial Taxation Service, tax reduction and exemption policies have been issued to help self-employed veterans start their own businesses.
