Guizhou to further increase residents' incomes

Southwest China's Guizhou province will implement a package of measures to increase the incomes of urban and rural residents to improve people's livelihoods, according to a news conference on June 15.

In 2022, more than 600,000 new urban jobs are expected to be created, and 40,000 people will be put in urban public welfare positions.

Through measures providing public employment services and carrying out special job fairs at universities and colleges, the implementation rate of this year's graduates' initial graduation destination is expected to be at least 80 percent.

According to the unified national deployment, starting January this year basic pensions for retirees from urban institutions and enterprises must be adjusted to an overall adjustment level of 4 percent, benefiting 1.65 million people in the province.

In January this year, the basic pension for urban and rural residents was raised, with an increase of 15 yuan ($2.24) per person per month, which will benefit 4.81 million people in the province

The "Skilled Guizhou" action will be promoted as well. In 2022, Guizhou will provide 600,000 vocational training opportunities and cultivate more than 200,000 skilled workers and more than 75,000 high-skilled talents.

In addition, 15 provincial vocational competition training bases will be identified and 20 vocational competitions will be held.
