From 2012 to 2021, Southwest China's Guizhou province has seen steady growth in the amount of talent in the province, continuous optimization of the talent structure, an increasingly sound talent mechanism, and continuous improvement in the talent environment.

The Guizhou Professionals Convention has been held every year since 2013, providing more than 200,000 jobs and introducing more than 50,000 high-level and urgently needed skilled workers from home and abroad.

For nine consecutive years, the province has organized for relevant enterprises and institutions in key industrial fields to go to Peking University, Tsinghua University and other domestic universities to carry out talent recruitment, introducing a large amount of outstanding young talent.

Guizhou has insisted on flexible talent introduction, facilitated the establishment of 90 academician workstations by 95 academicians, and introduced and rehired 1,078 retirees from inside and outside the province since 2013.

The province has built 35 continuing education bases for professional and technical personnel, 49 technical colleges, 67 high-skilled personnel training bases, 163 skill master studios, and 59 post-doctoral research work stations, as well as four national expert service bases, and one entrepreneurial park for overseas students.

Also, Guizhou rolled out plans for talent development during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, including supporting policies and measures such as the introduction of key industrial talent, incentives for innovation and entrepreneurship of scientific and technological talent, and optimization of the talent environment.
