Guiyang Shared Agricultural Innovation City was recently honored as a 2022 provincial entrepreneurship demonstration park for migrant workers by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security.
The innovation city is located in Shawen town of Baiyun district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
It is a one-stop collection and distribution center for agricultural products built and operated under "State-owned platform + cooperative" model.
Since it was put into operation in January this year, the innovation center has focused on people's livelihood security and rural vitalization as a way to increase farmer incomes and build an entrepreneurship platform for migrant workers.
So far, 104 enterprises of migrant workers returning to their hometowns have set up operations in the innovation city and have employed 415 people.
From January to October this year, the innovation city achieved a transaction volume of 1.5 billion yuan ($215.28 million), which has effectively stimulated employment and increased income among the surrounding rural labor force and played an important role in stimulating business vitality and aiding rural vitalization.
