The Guiyang bureau of human resources and social security, the business authority for technical education in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is continuing to expand school-enterprise cooperation between technical colleges and industrial enterprises.

Focusing on advanced equipment manufacturing and the development of the new energy automobile industry, the municipal bureau arranged for an expert group to go to Guiyang Traffic Technical School to provide advice on school development planning, teacher team building and school-company cooperation.

The Guiyang Traffic Technical School, which was established in 1979, annually trains an average of 3,000 people in vocational skills. It has opened special majors, including automobile sheet metal and painting, automobile maintenance, automobile manufacturing and assemblies, as well as majors on new energy vehicle inspections and maintenance.

In 2016, with the help of the municipal bureau, the school signed a school-enterprise cooperation agreement order with Guizhou Geely Automobile Manufacturing Co. To date, the school has trained a total of 601 students for the auto manufacturer. What's more, 257 graduates are working at the company, with 28 of them now working in key positions.

Moving forwards, plans are for the municipal bureau to continue to increase its support for technical colleges, develop more high-level technical colleges and majors that meet the requirements – and to support the reforms and developments of technical school education.
