Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has made efforts to build itself into a hub for talent of various types.
In 2022, the city added 22,500 talents in the manufacturing industry, 20,300 talents in the big data industry, 13,000 rural practical talents, and 110,800 college and university graduates who chose to stay in Guiyang, a record high.
Guiyang's talent environment is being recognized by more and more industrial and professional talents who come to the city to start businesses.
So far, 16,000 sets of affordable, pre-furnished rental housing units for talent have been built, and a rental discount of 20 percent is provided.
Graduates can enjoy a house purchase discount of up to 10 percent and a rent subsidy of 2,400 yuan ($347.82) to 9,600 yuan, which has effectively reduced the housing cost for talent.
Relying on skilled master studios and skilled talent training bases, Guiyang has also cultivated all kinds of talent needed for industrial development.
Last year, the city provided 47,000 opportunities for vocational skills training.
Also, Guiyang has encouraged enterprises to boost employment, and guided talent to gather in industries. Last year, the city distributed various policy support funds worth 124 million yuan.
