Craftsman skills competition winds up in Guiyang

The 3rd Jiaxiu Craftsman Skills Competition wound up in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on June 16.

The competition was hosted by the Guiyang municipal bureau of human resources and social security, and organized by Guiyang Nursing Vocational College, Guiyang Vocational Technology Institute, and Guiyang Girls' Vocational School.

A total of 255 contestants participated in the competition, which covered 13 projects, including health care, pharmaceutical preparation workers, electricians, assembly fitters, plastic mold engineering, robot system integration, and automotive technology.

The top three winners were selected for each competition project, with 83 awards of excellence handed out.

In addition to awarding honorary certificates and Jiaxiu craftsman medals, the top three winners for each project were given 5,000 yuan ($698.7), 3,000 yuan, and 2,000 yuan, respectively.

The competition provided a solid platform for all kinds of skilled talents in Guiyang to learn from each other, and further incentivized workers to master new skills and improve old ones.
