Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province have strengthened their level of coordination and made significant efforts to promote wider employment in the first half of this year.
As a result, they have helped to create 83,000 new jobs in local urban areas.
Guizhou and Guian have prioritized ensuring stable employment and supporting people's livelihoods. Key population groups targeted include university and college graduates, rural laborers, unemployed individuals, and those facing employment difficulties.
Approximately 137 million yuan ($19.07 million) has been allocated for employment subsidies in the first half, including those for vocational skills training, public welfare positions, entrepreneurship, employment incentives, and social security.
Moreover, 2.23 million yuan from the unemployment insurance fund has been allocated to support enhanced enterprise skills. On top of this, 220 million yuan in loans have been provided for entrepreneurial guarantees, supporting 840 entrepreneurs and generating employment opportunities for 2,705 people.
Significant efforts have been made to secure wider employment for graduates. Guiyang and Guian have created over 140,000 employment positions for them as well as more than 4,100 internship positions.
Training has also been provided for rural laborers and individuals returning from urban to rural parts of the region, with entrepreneurship training offered to those with such aspirations. In total, skills training has been given to more than 25,700 people and jobseekers.
