Guiyang City and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province recently rolled out a plan for promoting the high-quality development of vocational training.

The plan sets a target to provide 600,000 vocational training opportunities and increase the total number of skilled talents in Guiyang and Guian to at least 560,000 by 2025, with highly-skilled talent accounting for at least 30 percent of all skilled talent.

Enterprises in Guiyang and Guian will receive support in cultivating technicians and senior technicians.

All types of vocational and technical colleges in Guiyang and Guian will be included in the scope of subsidized vocational training institutions.

Various types of non-public vocational training institutions, such as vocational colleges and private vocational training schools, will be incentivized to establish vocational and technical colleges and non-governmental vocational training schools.

Also, leading enterprises and industrial organizations will be encouraged to carry out vocational training and independent evaluation.

In addition, enterprises and colleges will be encouraged to apply for the establishment of highly-skilled talent training bases, vocational training bases, public training bases, and master artisan workshops.

By 2025, efforts will be made to achieve the full coverage of county-level vocational training bases in Guiyang and Guian, with eight national and 12 provincial highly-skilled talent training bases and 20 national and 40 provincial master artisan workshops to be established.
