Vocational skills competition held in Guiyang and Guian

The 9th vocational skills competition for workers in the big data Industry in Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province was held at Guizhou Electronic Technology College on Dec 23.

Jointly organized by Guiyang's trade union, human resources and social security bureau, communist youth league committee, and Guian New Area's trade union working committee, the event aimed to further enhance the knowledge and skills of workers and young talents in the field of big data in Guiyang and Guian, and encourage more young talents to join the workforce in the big data industry.

The competition was divided into two categories: the staff workers' group comprising administrative and corporate workers from Guiyang and Guian, and the youth group made up of students from various colleges and universities in the region. Each group had 20 teams participating in the competition.

The competition included two sections: a knowledge quiz and a capture the flag (CTF) event. These sections aimed to test the participants' theoretical understanding of security and their practical abilities to solve information security challenges.

During the knowledge quiz, participants needed to carefully consider questions related to laws and regulations, basic knowledge of cybersecurity and security operations. In the CTF event, participants showcased their skills by analyzing puzzles, cracking passwords and finding clues, which was a battle of speed and intelligence.

After four hours of intense competition, the 0x0000 team and 0x7C00 team from Guizhou Electronic Technology College emerged as the champions in the staff workers' group and youth group, respectively.
