In 2023, the Guiyang municipal bureau of human resources and social security made efforts to promote the construction of odd-job markets and build a platform connecting employment entities with odd-job workers, which is expected to not only increase people's incomes, but also help them balance their work and family life.

In March 2023, the bureau, together with seven departments including finance, construction, and market supervision, issued the Guiyang odd-job market construction plan to ensure the orderly development of odd-job markets.

All districts, county-level cities and counties in Guiyang are encouraged to cultivate distinctive brands and expand channels for workers to increase their income.

The odd-job market in Guiyang has a waiting area, a job search (employment) registration area, a skills training area, a labor rights protection area, a policy consultation area, and a rest area. It is also equipped with full-time personnel responsible for daily job recruitment, information release, job search registration and guidance, and job recommendations.

It not only provides job seekers with accurate employment services, but also helps companies find workers, especially temporary workers.

So far, Guiyang has built a total of 17 odd-job markets, including 12 offline and five online, providing access to all districts and counties in the city. These markets provide an average of 1,137 jobs per day and serve an average of 845 people per day.
