In recent years, Guiyang city and Gui'an New Area, in Southwest China's Guizhou province, have focused on the gathering of talents, which would provide strong intelligent support for the high-quality development of the two regions.

Last year, Guiyang and Gui'an formulated the 2023 action plan for college and university graduates staying in Guiyang. Throughout the year, 120,700 graduates chose to stay in Guiyang and Gui'an for employment and entrepreneurship purposes, bringing the total talent pool to 1.38 million people.
Since July last year, two professional or comprehensive job fairs have been held weekly. Subsidies have also been granted to participating companies that hire talents from such job fairs.
Meanwhile, two provincial-level internship bases and six municipal-level internship bases were added in Guiyang and Gui'an.
In addition, last year, Guiyang and Gui'an disbursed a total of 20.21 million yuan ($2.81 million) towards various talent awards and subsidies, which has benefited 1,128 enterprises and institutions, and 3,656 talents.
Moving forwards, Guiyang and Gui'an will continue to carry out actions to increase employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for graduates. They also aim to establish two major platforms for talent development in order to attract talents of various types to stay.
