The first event of the 2024 Guiyang Vocational Schools (Technical Schools) Skills Competition officially began at Guiyang Economics & Trade Vocational School on March 4.
Twenty-five teams from vocational schools across the city competed in three categories: network construction and maintenance, big data application and services, and digital art design. The competition showcased the students' technical skills and youthful energy.
This year's competition features 62 events across three groups: the student group, teacher group, and mixed student-teacher group.
The competition aims to enhance teaching and learning through contests, demonstrating the effectiveness of vocational education reforms and promoting high-quality development. Strict scoring standards ensure fairness, with judges evaluating skill demonstrations, operational standards, and final results. A supervisory team also oversees the process and reviews scores for accuracy.
Running until late March, the competition will continue at various schools, including Guiyang Girls' Vocational School and Guiyang Transportation School. Outstanding participants will advance to the provincial vocational skills competition, further driving vocational education growth and providing a stage for students to showcase and refine their expertise.
