Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area have established 35 innovation and entrepreneurship platforms, including incubators and makerspaces, to support university students in starting businesses and promote employment through entrepreneurship.
In the past three years, over 360,000 college graduates have chosen to work or start businesses in Guiyang and Gui'an, thanks to targeted efforts to attract talent both locally and from outside Guizhou province. In 2024, 74 university leaders from Guizhou were invited to visit enterprises, which helped generate 15,700 high-quality job opportunities and 197,200 graduate-suitable positions.
Guiyang and Gui'an also launched Guizhou's first city-level industry-education consortium in the big data sector, bridging the gap between schools, research institutions, and employers.
In recognition of its progress, Guiyang ranked 25th in China's 2024 New Talent Competitiveness Index and was listed among China's top 50 talent-friendly cities.
The area now operates 20 university employment and entrepreneurship service stations, while youth communities, such as Anchao Apartment in Gui'an, offer free one-year stays and policy guidance to recent graduates, creating a nurturing environment for young professionals.
