Guiyang and Gui'an talent pool reaches 1.63 million

The sixth session of the Sixth Guiyang Municipal People's Congress opened on Jan 19, during which the Guiyang municipal government work report was delivered. According to the report, both the quantity and quality of talent in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area increased during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), with the total talent pool reaching 1.63 million.

Over the past five years, Guiyang and Gui'an have attracted 13,300 high-level and urgently needed professionals, while adding 227,000 industry-specific talents in sectors such as manufacturing, big data, and rural vitalization. A total of 570,000 college graduates have chosen to work or start businesses in the two regions.

During the same period, Guiyang and Gui'an added 28,000 senior professional title holders and 176,000 highly skilled workers. The Guiyang Talent Group was established, and the China Guiyang Human Resources Service Industrial Park has brought together 125 related institutions.

To better serve and retain talent, Guiyang and Gui'an have optimized policy support, offering 100,000 units of low-rent housing for talent. The two regions have also been named among China's Top 50 Talent-Friendly Cities for two consecutive years.
